Certified Mediation Training – Mediators’ Institute of Ireland Approved Nine Day Programme. The programme covers workplace; community; and civil and commercial disputes. An adapted version has been delivered by Gerry O’Sullivan in the University of Limerick to participants from the UL “Masters in Arts: Peace and Development Studies” programme. This training includes assessment for accreditation with the Mediators’ Institute of Ireland. Learning Outcome:
- Participants will understand the concept of mediation and the framework required for carrying out professional and effective mediations.
- They will develop skills for mediating between parties in different contexts and will be prepared for MII assessment.
- Learn methods and techniques for identifying the core of the conflict.
- Be able to identify their own style of handling conflict and the changes they may need to make.
Block 1: 17th, 18th & 19th September Block 2: 8th, 9th & 10th October Block 3: 22nd & 23rd October Optional Assessment dates – Nov 3rd or 4th. She has delivered conflict and mediation training internationally with Lawyers Without Borders, in partnership with the Director of Training from CEDR, U.K., and she is also an externally employed trainer with CEDR U.K. She is the senior lecturer in the mediation programme delivered through the law faculty of Griffith College. She also delivered mediation training for the University of Limerick’s, “Masters in Peace and Development” programme.
