How we will work together
The Effective Leadership Method’s overarching purpose is to ensure leaders assess the right things, develop the right competencies in the right way and integrate them into effective practice as soon as possible so that they don’t waste their time, energy or reputation on bad decisions or the wrong development.
The Effective Leadership Method (ELM) considers several essential layers in sustainable leadership development based on research and over a decade of coaching and development work.

ELM is a data-driven process tailored to the individual’s unique needs, roles and responsibilities within their organisational system. We do this by formal/informal assessments.
ELM develops the skills, strategies and approaches required for the leader to be most effective within their current role and in achieving individual and organisational goals.
Lastly, in ELM, we action, measure and assess the impact of the new strategies, approaches and skills developed in phase two.

To lead authentically and confidently while having a meaningful impact, it is essential to understand the complexity of leading without simplifying it to “cookie-cutter leadership”.
The Effective Leadership Method speaks to this but follows the 3-part process of assessment, development and integration.

IN THE ASSESSMENT STAGE OF THE EFFECTIVE LEADERSHIP METHOD, WE DISCUSS
 Your leadership needs, challenges, and goals.
 The organisation’s needs, challenges, and goals for your leadership.
 Any current data you have, such as feedback, recent 360s, organisational strategies etc.

IN THE DEVELOPMENT STAGE OF THE EFFECTIVE LEADERSHIP METHOD, WE

 Review your relevant skills, strengths, and leadership approach.
 Develop your strengths further, build and utilise a personal leadership strategy/brand.
 Develop new practical approaches to have more influence, creditability, and impact.

IN THE INTEGRATION STAGE OF THE EFFECTIVE LEADERSHIP METHOD,

 You implement your new approaches, skills, and strategy
 We measure the impact to adjust as we go.
 We work live on the challenging situations that arise in your work as they present.

Methodology
Throughout the programme we will engage in two distinctive aspects of leadership development, firstly leader development in which an individual leader increases their leadership skills and awareness, and secondly leadership development, in which each leader will consider the wider aspects of leadership within their organisation and how there can be a unified, consistent approach engaged within their organisation. This dual lens will allow individuals to take personal responsibility for their role in leading their organisation and to think more strategically/holistically about leadership within their organisation.
The two main leadership theories that will be utilised within the programme are inclusive and participatory leadership because research shows it supports engagement, retention, commitment and innovation from people.
The training methodology to be used during the programme will be largely focused on the development and reflective practice rather than traditional training. The focus is on developing the knowledge and skills of participants to support their leadership practice, rather than simply transferring knowledge about leadership. This will occur in a number of ways, including presentations, group activities, group discussions, practice activities, reflective practice and integration practices throughout the programme.
