In the event of a data breach, companies must be able to evaluate and respond quickly. This one-day workshop will go through the steps required to prepare an incident response plan that works for your company, the legal obligations you need to consider, including when to notify the Data Protection Commission and data subjects.

By attending this course, you will learn how to prepare a response plan, your obligations, as well as identifying key roles in the process. During the day we will also run a live breach workshop where you will being given a scenario in real time, this will give you the opportunity to put what you have learned into practice, and manage the breach in groups with assistance from the tutor.

All attendees will get a chance to engage in an informative Q & A session, and will receive a highly informative course pack.

THE TUTOR

Kate Colleary, Director and Founder, Pembroke Privacy

She is Country Leader for the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), the world’s largest and most comprehensive global information privacy community. Kate is a certified data protection practitioner (CIPP/E IAPP) and a leading expert in Data Protection and Freedom of Information law. She previously led the Data Protection team of an international law firm, has been a qualified practicing solicitor since 1999 and is the Principle of Colleary & Co, a law firm specialising in data protection litigation. She gained an honours degree in law from Trinity College Dublin in 1995.
