Programme Aim

The aim of this programme is to equip learners with the relevant skills, knowledge and attitudes to strengthen and develop their people management skills in accordance with international best practice.

A key outcome of the programme is to deliver highly motivated supervisors and managers, equipped with a range of skills, knowledge, tools and techniques for leading, developing and fostering highly motivated teams resulting in increased productivity, profitability and competitiveness

 

Objectives
At the end of this programme participant will be able to:

Acquire the theoretical knowledge to understand the role and responsibilities of a ‘proactive’ supervisor.

Explore a range of supervisory, management and leadership skills including planning, group facilitation, performance conversations, hosting meetings and time management.

Develop the critical interpersonal communication skills and emotional intelligence to motivate, lead and support individuals and/or teams.

Demonstrate the confidence to deal with a variety of challenging situations.

Develop good work practices appropriate to a role as supervisor/line manager.

Delivery
The programme is delivered in a highly participatory manner applying the 80:20 Rule, whereby, the trainer aims to achieve 80% of the content from the participants and deliver the further 20% content omitted. This is a rule of thumb and varies dramatically. A range of interactive tools are employed to ensure focus, action orientation and balanced participation. The programme is delivered in a light-hearted manner and focuses on relevant skills, knowledge and attitudes that deliver results.
